Guys!

I've decided to put my blog on hold. Possibly forever!

Exams are coming up. Year 11 is coming up. Year 12 is coming next. I don't know if I'll ever find time to re-blog.

Yeahhh..

First New Zealand, now Japan!

For all those people out there who haven't heard (people living under rocks and such), Japan has been hit by one helluva big earthquake that is being measured at 8.8 - 8.9. And because it's so big, a tsunami has followed it and caused even more destruction.

Just a little note that Japan sits on the Pacific rim, which New Zealand also sits on, and it's no coincidence that they both got hit by earthquakes.

There are also alerts for New Zealand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Hawaii and other countries for tsunami waves.

So far the earthquake has only taken one life. Let's hope it stays that way.

Pain!

Well, as you know, I have been sick. Some people haven't noticed :(

I think there's two sides to being sick:

The good side, where you get to do whatever you want at home (I've been sitting on my bed and playing games) and not having to do any work at all. And not getting lectured by parents because you're sick and they're not allowed to shout at you until you get better.

The bad side, where the sickness kicks in. I won't go into too much detail, but I've had a big bad stomach ache which means I had to go potty every 30 minutes or so. Ouch..
I also missed out on 2 days of work which I need to catch up on, since all the stuff we're learning will probably be in our half yearly exams PLUS I've missed out on stuff for English which I'll probably need for my essay...

Apparently, for a stomach ache of this degree, all I have to do is eat this medicine that makes you... not poop. And then I'm not allowed to eat (EVERYBODY KNOWS HOW MUCH I LIKE TO EAT) but I have to drink lots and lots of lemonade. And burp it out. So basically I'm transferring the gas out another way.

Grossed out?

Day of training!

Today, we ( Avi, Thai and meeee) went to Santosh's house to do ONE thing only - play table tennis as much as we could for tomorrow's table tennis competition. So we did :D

We got bored after about 4 hours of it, so we all decided to head off to Kyleen's house which was "close by" according to Santosh's reckoning. About half way through, we decided to split off and have a race to see who could get to Kyleen's house faster. Thai + Me  VS.  Avi and Santosh.

It turned out Thai didn't know the number to the house but would recognize the house as soon as he saw it. So we went on the road hoping to find the house (which had like, houses going up to #300+) and stopped at 245. After going through 60 - 245 and not finding the house, we decided to call the other two who might have gotten there already.

They told us to go back the other way, but then told us that the house number was 252. WHICH MEANT WE WERE 3 HOUSES AWAY WHEN WE GAVE UP. By this time we had walked all the way back to around 210 and had to walk back an entire street.

Santosh and Avi reached Kyleen's house first, although technically Thai and I had won. Plus, Avi and Santosh cheated by hitching a ride in Santosh's sister's car. SO WE WON! IT'S OK AS LONG AS WE KNOW WE WON!

And that concludes a very long life story :D

School is for learning!

O hai.

Been busy with getting back to school and all that so... yeah :D

Anyway, despite it being year 11 and seniors and all, I hardly feel like I've learnt anything in any of my subjects. Is it just me or do the lessons seem to drag on and on and on...

To give a quick look into my subjects:

3U Maths: Revising year 10 stuff. For the third week.

Adv. English: Reading King Henry V one slow scene per lesson and analyzing and summarizing and other-izing the scene.

Physics: Data-logger prac and running prac.

Biology: Biotic = Living factor. Abiotic = Non-living factor. Anything else?

Engineering Studies: As good as it sounds, the only thing I've learnt is that Haracic doesn't like Indians. Ha!

SLR: Seeing as I picked this subject in order to not learn, it's going well. Plus, we get to swim next period :D

[insert joke about me not being able to swim]

Don't worry, it's good for you!

O hai guys.

As you know, I like my food. And it's pretty hard to make me lose my appetite. Well, today I was eating dinner with my wonderful family, and I'm just gobbling all the meat I can get my chopsticks on.

I grab this asian vegie thing (I have no idea what it's called in english, it's like bok choi or lettuce, for you Canto people, it's CHOI) and lo and behold, there's a nice, big, fat green caterpillar on it. Now I don't know about anyone else, but that totally made me lose my appetite.

I showed it to my mom, expecting some reaction like, "OMG, throw it in the bin." or "WTF" or something. Instead, I get a "Oh, don't worry about that, it's good for you, eat it!"

This incredi-fied me so much that I chucked the caterpillar on her bowl and told her to eat it.

....Yeah.

This is what it looks like by the way.

Happy CHINESE New Year!

Well, once again it's that special time for us asians, the new year that REALLY counts - Chinese New Year! I wish you all a great year, with good health and happiness, and, most importantly, a whole bunch of lucky money / red pocket money!

I'm on $210 and feelin' rich :D

Just to clarify to some people, lucky money is given by married couples to younger people, whether they are married or not.

In other news.. who's doing table tennis for sport? Queensland got owned again! Valentine's Day is coming up! Haracic thinks Indians are bad!

Gong hei fat choi!

First day as senior(s)!

First day back to school! And it's hot as shit! 42 degrees with two heavy textbooks makes for some crappy learning. Not that we learnt anything...

Weird to see everyone in senior uniform, I keep thinking that we're still juniors so my eyes just seem to skip the white shirts and look at the khaki.

But being a senior is greaaaat. We can finally walk through the Hall of Honour without having to look guiltily behind us to see if Mr. Craig is ready to pounce at us. Also, senior authority is pretty cool, although it seems a bit... mean :D

Example: Year 7/8/9 (they all look the same) kids drinking from bubblers, a certain indian struts along and says 'Oi! Get away, I want a drink!" Year 7/8/9 scatter and our little hero drinks with a smug look on his face.

By the way, anyone remember de-tagging in Year 7? Why are we not de-tagging year 7's?! There are also tags on our new ties. DE-TAG  BATTLE, ANYONE?

..no?

CNYE!

As some of you guys know, I do some Shaolin. No, I do not want to fight you.

Anyway, there are performances on CNYE (Chinese New Years Eve for you slow people) and since I've been told to, I will be shamelessly advertising.

So, come and enjoy the show! It's at the Bonnyrigg Temple during CNYE at 9:00 P.M - 1:00 A.M (approx.) and there will be lion dancing, set performances and even that funny fat dude guy thing emu. For Buddhist people, you can come to wish for good health, luck-filled year and lots of lucky money :D

I think they are also going to hand out some lucky money, but it's going to be around 20c because we're all asian. ^_^

Oh, and there's fire crackers.

School in a week!

O hai!

Sorry I haven't blogged lately, it's just that there's been nothing to blog about. I'm just gaming 24/7 now with my dota buddies :D

So I went to buy my books for school yesterday at Westfieldz, when I realised that I might not even need them. After 2 years with the laptops, nobody still knows what to do with them except for secretly playing games/watching movies/not work stuff in class.

Also, got my uniform a few days ago and I hope I never have to look like an asian Steve Irwin ever again.

You should have learnt this in high school!

Maybe this is just me, but I have to do all the sort of important stuff in my family, such as making phone calls to Optus, filling out forms and all that. That's all very fine, I guess, since I probably know the most english in my entire family.

But once in a while, my parents tell me to do something harder, such as writing a resume. Yes, I know the e has the apostrophe thing, I just don't know how to do it :(. Anyway, that is REALLY hard, since I've never made a resume before. It kinda pisses me off when they say,

"You're in Year 10 (Year 11 soon!), you should have already learnt how to do this. We ask you to do something simple and you won't even do it?"

Has anyone ever learnt how to write a resume during school? I've learnt essays, short stories, reports and descriptions and all the others, but I don't remember EVER learning how to write a resume. Which I think is a serious flaw in my education, since almost everyone will need to write a resume somewhere in the future when they apply for a job.

I can't think of anything to post, so I'll just put up a few GIFs that might appeal to people :D

For anime lovers!

Love how he laughs at the end,

Stretch your teeth!

As we all know, I has braces. The metal thingies that go on your teeth. Well, every month or so, I have a dreaded dentist appointment that makes them even tighter, which in turn makes it hurt for several days, which means I can only eat porridge. And everybody knows how much I like food :(

Upside of braces:

- After the 1-2 year period, you get normal looking teeth!

That's it.

Downside of braces:

- When you first get them, THEY HURT LIKE SHIT. 2 weeks of porridge, before moving on to instant noodles. This has happened to everyone I know who has gotten braces EXCEPT for Colin, who seems to have magical teeth that repel pain.

- Like I said, dentist appointments every month or so. Tightened braces = no proper food.

- Any food you eat WILL get stuck in your braces. Especially toffee.

- You have to get used to the nickname 'Train tracks'.

- Brushing your teeth is a pain in the ass.

- Sometimes, sharp bits poke out and scratch your mouth, which results in painful ulcers.

- You have to wear a retainer after you've finished with braces.

As you can see, a lot more cons than pros, but at least I'll look good when I get them off!

...right?

Older? Younger? Only?

I've always wonder what it would be like to be an only child, or be an older brother. From what I know from asking, being an only child means you get spoilt silly because the money doesn't have to be shared between 2+ children. You only have to worry about yourself and do what your parents ask you to do.

On the other hand, being an older sibling seems to mean to have an annoying, little snot of a brother/sister that you have to take care of whenever the folks aren't home. You get most of the good stuff because you're the older one, but you have to (sometimes) share it with your annoying brother/sister.

That's what I hear from others, anyway. Is it really that bad?

From a younger sibling's perspective, all I can say is that having an older brother doesn't really affect me, except for that time he came to the school and all the girls wanted to see a picture of him. There isn't really a downside to having an older sibling, and the only upside is.... I get driven to places? :D

Buzz, prick, itch and annoy!

I'm gonna do a Simon C. and do a bit of a rant.

Question: WHY DO MOSQUITOS EXIST?

They are of no use to anyone/thing/other. A cow can be useful for eating, milking or riding. The grass a cow eats is useful for feeding cows, or goats, or vegetarians.

But how is a mosquito useful? What do they achieve by biting you and making you itch? Sure, they take your blood to reproduce. But for what? To bite us again, that's what!

And yes, I did get bitten by a mosquito.

OMG! A BLOG!

GREETINGS EMUS!

This will be my first ever post on a blog, and my first ever blog and the word 'GREETINGS' was the first word I ever typed for a post for a blog. If you're still reading this, it means you're genuinely interested, and want to keep reading! (Which is good.)

Perhaps you will be wondering what this blog will be about. The answer is that I don't know. It will be full of random stuff from snippets of my life (like that time a bird pooped on my head) to images and videos that I find. It can range from Indians to unicorns. From Jacky Chan to emus. From Justin Beiber to... to... you get the point.

Hope you enjoy the blog! :D
